Job Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the operation and Corporate Communications department, plans and implements research to validate effectiveness of communication strategies e.g. devising and administering questionnaires, workplace visits, monitoring workplace behaviour etc.
  • Provide support with the conducting of key company employee engagements. Eg. Surveys, global safety day, women’s month, results, CEO staff briefings, youth month, 16 days of activism, culture in action etc
  • Partner with Corporate Communications to support Platinum and Group initiatives
  • Assist with the development and implementation of communication campaigns
  • Provide public relations services to the operation in partnership with corporate communications
  • Gather, prepare and gain approval of content for our channels such as Engage, newsletters, community newspapers, Eureka, website, etc.
  • Active engagement across the operation to identify communications opportunities
  • Ensure digital channels, particularly Engage, is regularly updated and provide relevant and accurate content(e.g., signage, PPE, document templates, merchandise, etc.)
  • Ensure all other communications channels are regularly updated and provide relevant information (e.g., screens, noticeboards etc)
  • Organise site visits in liaison with public relations office

Job Requirements:

  • Operations: Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role
  • Commercial: Basic financial metrics, cost and value management & budgeting tools
  • Valid driving license
  • Degree/Diploma in Communications, Journalism
  • At least three years’ experience in the communication field
  • Management: Risk management techniques and critical controls
  • Compliance: Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory and permitting requirements
