Job Description:

The purpose of this role is to provide a safe and productive supporting service with secondary /auxiliary equipment to Mining Operations. This role includes the operating of all secondary /auxiliary equipment applicable to the area of responsibility, for a minimum of x3 equipment pieces as indicated by the multi-licensing /multiskilling process within Mining Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Safety meetings are attended as per instruction
• Allocated area is always clean & good housekeeping practices are applied to ensure a hazard free environment
• All reported abnormalities are followed up continuously to resolve it.
• Ensure on-going, good housekeeping standards are maintained by cleaning of work areas /or designated and allocated work areas, as well as any other areas as indicated to by the Supervisor.
• Spilled material / waste collected must be correctly sorted and dumped at dedicated areas to ensure no further pollution or contamination takes place.
• Assistance must be provided to Supervisor or co-workers as and when required and upon Supervisors’ instructions.
• Work is always executed according to appropriate SHE standards and done in a way to ensure that work practices does not endanger the safety of self or others.
• Appropriate work instructions & standards must be read, signed off, training requested where applicable, and always adhered to.
• Ensure the secondary / auxiliary equipment is cleaned with the appropriate tools and according to the required standards.
• Safety signs and equipment in allocated areas must be cleaned, visible, legible and fit for use.
• When using specialised equipment, ensure its always inspected prior to use.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is always used & maintained according to safety regulations and PPE standards and procedures / policies.

Job Requirements:

• 1-2 years’ experience within the Mining environment and or operating Secondary / Auxiliary equipment is recommended.
• Correct Dover level.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Grade 12 / N3 / FET Level 4 Certificate Minimum
• Fitness for work as per Mine Health and Safety Standards
