Job Description:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies require the services of a reputable Pharmacist for their Boksburg North store. Your portfolio will cover the provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for patients’ medicine-related needs, and being accountable for meeting these needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• The compounding, manipulation, preparation or packaging of any medicine or scheduled substance, or the supervision thereof
• Follow up with patients regarding script tacking reports as requested by the Dispensary Manager, and follow up appointments
• The manufacturing of any medicine or scheduled substance, or supervision thereof
• The provision of pharmacist-initiated therapy
• The purchasing, acquiring, importing, keeping, possessing, using, releasing, storage, packaging, re-packaging, supplying or selling of any medicine or scheduled substance, or supervision thereof
• Keep abreast of changes in medical aid procedures and requirements for claims and dispensing
• Dispensing of any medicine or scheduled substance on the prescription of a person authorised to prescribe medicine
• The application for the registration of a medicine in accordance with the Medicines Act and Pharmacy Act
• Furnishing of information and advice to any person with regard to the use medicine
• Correct errors on scripts rejected by medical aid

Job Requirements:

• Customer service/focus
• Basic dosing and important drug interaction
• Ability to train other staff members
• Good communication skills, listening
• Supervisor experience, and able to lead by example

Qualification & Experience:

• BPharm / equivalent qualification
• Experience in supervising staff
• Registered tutor
• Grade 12 / Matric
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
• Unisolv experience
