AVI Recruitment – Retail Training Specialist

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Retail Stores Training Specialist at SPITZ in Bryanston, Johannesburg.  The purpose of the role is to take ownership of and run the training function for the Business Unit (BU). This will include administering and presenting training, including training content creation, for the BU as per the annual training plan and the operational requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Confirmation of HR training & development spend for the next FY
• Ensure necessary documentation is completed and submitted to L&D for review
• Compiles monthly reports, including monthly spend, payments to service providers, invoices, travel costs, etc.
• Identifies training needs in conjunction with Operations and line managers
• Plans training – including content creation / amendment where necessary, and the administration aspects
• Works with transformation to meet the BBBEE Skills Development score targets
• Implements and drives all L&D initiatives in the particular BU detailed in the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP)

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of BBBEE & Skills Development as a Priority Element
• Knowledge of Training Policies & SLAs and Contracts
• Travel – must be willing and able to travel extensively within South Africa to different retail stores and training venues
• Knowledge of Training Procedures, Processes and Programmes

Qualification & Experience:

• 5 years’ experience in a Training role
• Matric (Grade 12)
• Experience working as a Store Manager or Store Admin Manager would be highly advantageous
• HR Certificate / Diploma or Degree
• Previous experience Training Staff across multiple locations or stores would be advantageous
• 2 years’ experience as within Retail Operations and Store Training would be essential
