Job Responsibilities:

Provide proactive, efficient engagements and ensure rapid response to issues raised across all social media platforms. Provide support by monitoring and responding to online community’s messages on all social media platforms. Identify sensitive issues and matters that need escalation and monitoring, while using systems and other support tools to ensure accurate response to queries. Maintain the Department’s social media voice and adhere to set policies and procedures while driving social media engagements and sharing of content. Proactively search the web to identify opportunities that will assist in providing a positive experience about the Department. Identify opportunities and actionable recommendations, while facilitating continuous improvement within all social media platforms. Social media marketing. Create, manage and grow department’s online presence through strategic and relevant online properties. Attend identified departmental events and produce content. Monitor on regular basis customer satisfaction responses. Proactive and reactive digital media strategies informed by analysis. Stimulate engagements and debates on topical safety issues. Ensure several people are recruited to follow and engage on the Department’s social media platforms. Strengthen and enhance Department’s profile through digital and traditional platforms. Monitor and manage current and emerging trends relating to digital and social media platforms. Advise on social media implications arising from key policies and programmes

Job Requirements:

Grade 12 plus 3 years National Diploma (NQF Level 6) / Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Communications/ Media Studies/ Journalism/ Digital marketing/ Public Relations as recognized by SAQA or any equivalent qualification related to the field. 3-5 years’ experience in digital media, content creation and government communications or similar environmental. A valid code 08/10 driver’s license. No criminal record or cases pending against you. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of and understanding of the digital media industry, its structures, individuals and how the digital platforms work. An understanding of and commitment to government objectives, policies and programmes. Strong writing skills and verbal communication skills. Technical skills how to generate and interpret social medial reports. Analytical and communication research skills
