Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the allocated areas comply with the Health and Safety Act and Infection and Prevention Control Policies.
- See in-service training as part of the daily duties. Will be required to do call as required by the service and relieve Assistant Manager (area) on delegation.
- Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team on a supervisory level to ensure that allocate areas are practicing best care always bundles and support all areas implementing lean project
- Demonstrate effective communication with patients and relatives, supervisors, other health professionals and junior colleagues including more complex report writing when required.
- Ensure clinical nursing practice by the nursing team (unit) in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the institution.
Job Requirements:
- Registration with SANC and proof of current registration.
- 2-3 years working experience in Infection Prevention and Control, diploma/certificate in Infection
- A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
- Prevention and Control and computer literacy will be added advantage.
- Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
