Job Description:
Are you ambitious, have high energy levels, a natural leader, innovative thinker and extremely passionate about fashion? Miladys, a trading division of the Mr Price Group is currently looking at recruiting a Senior Buyer within our Casualwear department.
Job Responsibilities:
- To build a balanced assortment of merchandise which appeals to our Miladys customer and ensures maximum profit for your portfolio;
- To develop a supplier strategy understanding each suppliers strengths and capabilities in order to obtain the best quality at the right price;
- To understand and monitor current trade in order to initiate action to increase sales;
- To lead a team in order to achieve the merchandise strategy and department objectives.
- To develop a product strategy in line with our Miladys customer profile that will ensure the company gains maximum profitability;
Job Requirements:
- All applicants must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at the time of application or if necessary undertake, to receive a second vaccination in accordance with Company policy, before permanent employment is confirmed.
- A fluent understanding of key fabric bases with the ability to translate correct styles into correct fabric
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Working within a manufacturing or a supplier environment would be advantageous.
Qualification & Experience:
- 2 years experience in managing a team of buyers
- 5 years buying experience, preferably buying ladies apparel
