Job Description:
This role is responsible for implementing Old Mutual Foundation strategy with specific reference to humanitarian and disaster support portfolio and initiatives by collaborating with key partners and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages the implementation of humanitarian and disaster support initiatives to aid people affected by crisis/pandemic/emergency.
- Participate in OML’s Africa Social Responsibility Forum.
- Provide input into and manage a Stakeholder Engagement Plan
- Manages performance.
- Execute grant-making for humanitarian efforts and stays alert to changes in the grant funding landscape
- Monitor, evaluate and report on projects and conduct regular field visits.
- Individually accountable for staff time, tasks, and output quality.
- Scout the environment for opportunities, risks, policy changes and communicates these to update the direction, focus areas or response in the existing strategy.
- Provide expert services to OML entities in the execution of their humanitarian or and disaster support initiatives.
- Manages the Humanitarian & Disaster Support related Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholders according to agreed process and standards.
- Align with crisis communications team on messaging in times of emergencies.
- Evidence-based decision-making through relevant research and knowledge management.
- Provides effective project management of Old Mutual Foundation’s Humanitarian CSI Programme including the selection of projects for funding and approval.
Job Requirements:
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
- Presentation skills
- Public speaking ability
- 5 – 8 years’ experience in community upliftment
- Project management experience essential
- 3 – 5 years’ development sector experience
- Development Studies/Social Science/Community Development qualification/degree
- Ability to engage with key decision-makers and policymakers
