Job Description:
The candidate will be responsible for managing a team of draftsmen. Coach and guide fellow team members, providing technical direction on engineering deliverables as well as quality management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely response to changes/technical queries.
- Recommend mechanical engineering related concessions.
- Report on budget utilization, forecasting and changes.
- Identify deviations from legal requirements and develop corrective actions/solutions.
- Capture, document and implement best practices.
- Manage and develop people in the team.
- Capture lessons learned in specifications, works instructions and procedures.
- Notify/inform of changes in resourcing needs.
- Develop and optimize quality management practices in drafting environment.
- Develop and optimize tools and standards (own, local and international) for use in the piping drafting environment
- Be responsible for own as well as team’s performance management system.
- Ensure that deviation management is in place.
- Ensure personal development plans are completed, implemented and tracked within applicable career path.
- Manage interfaces between other engineering disciplines, maintenance, projects and external technical community.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and innovation.
Qualification & Experience:
- Certification & Professional Membership
- Mechanical Engineer University Bachelor’s Degree or
- 6+ years’ experience
- Bachelor of Technology
- ECSA Registration (preferred)
