Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and control budget
- Order engineering equipment and spares
- Provide and maintain a safe environment with minimum risk to health and safety of employees in his or her section
- Overall control of mechanical apparatus in engineering and ensure legal compliance and safety of subordinates
- Maintain ISO standards and conditions in the section
- Plan, execute and supervise all day to day process and maintenance activities in his / her area of responsibility
- Oversee daily work according to Engineering Policies and Procedures within prescribed guidelines
- Ensure continuous training and updating of employees in your area of responsibility in regards to procedures and relevant instructions
- Maintenance of mechanical equipment including Mine de-watering pumps, Fridge Plants, settlers’ Turbine, 3CPS Pumping system, Mud pumps, pump station and columns
- Maintenance of water and Mud dams
Job Requirements:
- Have a relevant Trade Test Certificate
- Be prepared to work extended hours on ad hoc basis and be available
- Have a Foreman’s Certificate of competency
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be computer literate in Microsoft Office
- Be in possession of a valid Grade 12 or N3 Certificate or equivalent
- Have at least a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mechanical engineering field
- Be a self-starter, self-motivated and result orientated
