Job Responsibilities:
- Focus on safe quality of work, achieving of production targets, and housekeeping, supervise and coordinate support functions.
- Promote and develop team effectiveness within the department.
- Also to manage the health & safety of employees, material & discipline
- Load explosives, set fuses, and detonate explosives to produce desired blasting patterns and rock fragmentation in underground mines.
- The role is to manage the planning, leading, organisation and control of the production within his / her area of responsibility.
- Controlling and directing all activities of subordinates within your area of responsibility and as such takes on the role as a coach, mentor and instructor.
Job Requirements:
- Hold a valid Grade 10 Certificate or equivalent
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in Mining
- Be in possession of a valid Blasting Certificate
- Certified Competent A & B
