Job Responsibilities:
- Perform standby duties when required
- Required to work overtime weekdays and Sundays
- Accountable for proper discipline in the section
- Adhere to the standards and procedures of the mine regarding shaft repairs
- To provide and maintain a safe environment with minimum risk to health and safety of all employees in the section
- To carryout mechanical maintenance, repairs and installation of equipment and steel in the section including winder & shaft maintenance
- Required to work odd shifts
Job Requirements:
- Be a self-starter, motivated and be result orientated
- Have at least 3 year experience as a shaft Plater/Boilermaker
- Be able to read and understand drawings and do fabrication.
- Have a valid Grade 12 or N2 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Have good communication skills
- Be in possession of the relevant valid Trade Test Certificate (Section 13)
- Have at least 3 years’ experience as a Plater/Boilermaker
