Job Description:

To oversee and direct the work of Counsellors to provide HIV rapid testing services that include holistic HIV counselling and adherence support to clients receiving services within supported areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Counsellors in the implementation of index case testing
  • Supervise Counsellors overall performance
  • Oversee the availability of resources for Counsellors to implement HTS efficiently
  • Overseeing that required in-service training is done
  • Support completion of counsellors’ POEs
  • Ensure related quality control procedures are followed
  • Ensure counsellors document results as required
  • Ensure related HTS quality control procedures (IQC and RTCQI) are followed in collaboration with SEAD
  • Support Counsellors in the implementation of HIV self-testing services (where applicable)
  • Perform HIV rapid tests

Job Requirements:

  • Must have tact and discretion should and maintain a good work ethic at all times.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team comprising, but not limited to other Counsellors.
  • Travel between facilities and meet with and support counsellors at least twice per month.
  • Should be able to maintain Confidentiality and shared confidentiality.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience working for PEPFAR-funded projects or in the NGO environment.
  • Experience with Adherence Counselling and SRH counselling would be advantageous.
  • Fluency in more than one language (especially English & Sesotho).
  • Ability to write reports and timely submission of these, and to use Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to analyse data for the teams and support them to compile their weekly plans
